Chill
is one of the original artists of Hooker Studio. He's been throwin' down rhymes for quite a while now. He grew up just outside of our nations capitol (chocolate city baby), where he had major influences of the hip -hop culture. Chill started droppin rhymes in high school, and at parties. At first he was just foolin' around, but the encouragement of his friends directed him down the path of a serious and focused musician. Chill had a 9 to 5 and he saved up his loot to record his first independent solo album. He then joined the band, Sole, and began to flow over Their funk rock grooves. The band performed all over the Baltimore/Washington area, and had a pretty good following.
In 2002 , Chill left the band and moved up to Boston where he soon hooked up with an acid jazz band called, Hyptonic. Chill dropped the smooth rhymes to accompany the powerful voice of the lovely Lydia Harrell. Chill grew alot with the help of Hyptonic, and eventually began kickin' it on the solo tip. It was through Hyptonic that Chill met percussionist/drummer, and one of the founding members of Hooker Studio, Don Uva.
So far, Chill has recorded one CD with Hooker Studio. It's entitled Chameleon Next (Black-n-White World). Chill is currently working on his third CD.
Chill has also recorded some tracks with Scottie Vercoe and Lydia Harrell on the Invisible Movie Soundtrack. I urge you to check this out!!!!
THE CHILL HARD FACTS:
-Chill got his nickname from the band Sole. He would go to band practice with his friend and the drummer for Sole, Mike Henline, and would just quietly watch, and soak it all in. The guys in the band started calling him "Chill" because of his quiet demeaner.
-Chill's original MC name was KMC (kracker MC)
-Chill calls himself "The Chameleon" because of the way he can blend in with any musical enviroment, just like the chameleon blends in with natures enviroments.
